An attempt by Instapm.com to understand how the great product managers are taking decisions and what makes them great. We may not get chance to work with all of them but their work and strategy is available and we can definitely learn some product management (or company management) tips.

Let’s figure out how Marty sir ranked them up in his article on Mar 11, 2005 –
This list was compiled around 2005 and today is 2017. A lot has changed – Yahoo,eBay and Dell are almost gone. Amazon has become like Amazon and Google is bigger like Googol 😛
Oracle and Microsoft are where they always were – Focus on Enterprise Software, buy and kill or build. So as you see some entries in the list might not be able to secure their places and we have new and great product managers which deserver the place in the list of Top 10 Product Managers – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Instagram to name a few.
First we will rank them up again using a fuzzy algorithm. (That is a task for upcoming product managers to decipher what is the logic behind ranking)
So if Mr. Cagan is asked to write the new famous Product Managers List how would it be. It might be different then what InstaPM thinks. First we will see InstaPM Top 10 Product Managers and then we will ask Marty Cagan again to review his list and we would publish the same after his response.
